Venezia Park is a unique taste of vintage Florida, with the Historic District as one of three National Register districts in the John Nolen Historic District of Venice. Family-friendly Venezia Park is a short walk or bike ride to the beach, downtown Historic Venice, shops, restaurants, and entertainment.
The area was a hidden gem before Florida’s boom in the 1920s, long before the Gulf Coast popped on tourists’ radar. The Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers came across vacant land in the area, and hired revolutionary Philadelphia city planner, John Nolen, to design an upscale community on it. The concept was an upscale community that would accommodate prosperous snowbirds, year-round residents, workers, and merchants. Between 1926 and 1927, most of Venezia Park was built with Northern Italian and Mediterranean style one and two-story homes. The area still maintains a 1920s feel with the laid-back charm of the Gulf Coast.
